When three objects are in alignment, one of them is going to be eclipsed. When you let something come between you and wherever it is you're looking, you cease to be able to see all that's there.

There are many, many lessons to be learned from astronomy.

Syzygy was my Grandfather's and my favorite word. It's also the name of one of my favorite comic book characters:

I learned the word for spelling bee reasons. I recalled its meaning for real-life application reasons.

I guess it's a gift when life affords you the opportunity to see your spelling words come to good use.
